Ask the building manager
Find out about loading, lift reservations, contractor hours and induction requirements. Provide the relevant contact and instructions. Do not assume visitor parking is suitable for unloading equipment.
Describe the carrying route
Mention stairs between the lift and apartment, long corridors, narrow doors and restricted entry. Include where the technician can meet the access contact. A precise address and unit number prevent avoidable confusion.
Leave room for the work
Clear the agreed surface and adjacent floor area. Identify a responsible person to receive the care instructions. The appointment window should account for access and setup as well as the repair itself.
Details to collect in one message
Include unit number, building entry, loading location, lift requirements, contractor hours and the access contact’s phone number. Note stairs or long carrying distances that are not obvious from the street. If a building manager requires documents or advance registration, explain the process before the service date is agreed.
Separate access from authority
A concierge may be able to open a door but may not be authorised to accept the work or a variation. Identify the person responsible for the quotation as well as the onsite contact. Share the repair’s return-to-use instructions with occupants or cleaners who will use the kitchen after the technician leaves.
Questions, answered.
What is the next step?
Send photos, your suburb and the relevant material or fitting details. The team will clarify the proposed work, its limitations and the quote before an appointment is agreed.
