Powerpoint cutouts in stone

Adding or moving a power point? We assess the opening in the stone and work to the fitting dimensions agreed with your electrician.

Choose the fitting with your electrician

Send the power point model, mounting template and a photograph of the proposed position. Standard wall outlets, multi-gang plates and pop-up units need different openings. Your electrician confirms the location, electrical requirements and access behind the stone.

Check what is behind the stone

We need to understand the stone thickness, backing, nearby edges, existing openings and access. An installed splashback can hide adhesive, services and supporting material. Tell us about any existing cracks, repairs or movement before a modification is planned.

Cut to the mounting requirements

The opening must suit the fitting and its mounting arrangement, not just the visible faceplate. A larger faceplate does not automatically make an unsuitable cutout workable. The material, edge distances and condition determine whether the alteration is practical.

Stone cutting and electrical work

Our scope is the agreed stone opening. Electrical work, wiring, outlet supply and certification are handled by a licensed electrician. Arrange isolation and access with that trade before stone work is scheduled.

What to send for a quote

Send a full view of the benchtop, close-ups of the proposed opening, a view inside the cupboard and your suburb. Include the material name if known and the manufacturer’s installation drawing. Tell us about cracks, previous repairs, stairs and restricted access. We confirm the scope and price before you book.

Questions, answered.

Can you cut an opening in an installed stone splashback?

We assess suitable installed splashbacks individually. The material, backing, condition, nearby edges and access determine whether an opening can be made in place.

Do you install or wire the power point?

No electrical connection is included in the stone-cutting scope. A licensed electrician must handle the electrical work.

How much does a power point cutout cost?

Power point cutouts are quoted individually. Send the fitting template, photos, material if known and your suburb so we can confirm the stone work and any access requirements.

Which areas do you cover?

We are Sydney based and assess regional NSW enquiries by address. Melbourne and Queensland work is coordinated through scheduled visits. Send your suburb so we can confirm availability and any travel costs.

Planning a change to your stone?

Send photos, the fitting dimensions and your suburb. We’ll assess the opening and confirm the proposed work and price.
