Cracked stone benchtop repairs

A crack needs an assessment of the stone and its support, not just a colour match. Suitable cracks can be filled, but the repair remains visible.

A visible resin repair. Support or replacement may be needed; we explain the options before booking.

Follow the whole crack

Photograph both ends of the crack and show its position relative to the sink, cooktop, join and cabinet sides. Tell us if the gap has changed, if either side moves, or if you heard it occur. A crack near an opening may involve a narrow strip of stone that needs particular care.

Support before appearance

Resin cannot compensate for an unsupported span or continuing movement. Cabinet alignment, substrate and appliance loading may need attention before repair. Additional support is a separate scope when appropriate; it must not be assumed to be included in a cosmetic quotation.

Repair or replace

Long cracks, loose sections and damage through a critical support area may make replacement the better option. We explain those limitations before work is agreed. A repaired crack is not an invisible finish and does not automatically restore the original strength or manufacturer warranty.

Cost and preparation

Crack repair starts from $790 + GST ($869 total), subject to assessment. Clear the surrounding area and avoid leaning on or loading damaged stone. If a section is loose, keep people away from it and contact the team with photos before using the surface.

Questions, answered.

How do I get a repair quote?

Send one full-benchtop photo, close-ups of the damage, your suburb and the material name if known. Include a ruler beside the damage and tell us about any previous repair.

Will the repair be invisible?

Results depend on material, colour, damage and lighting. Colour matching aims to reduce the visual impact. Cracks and porcelain repairs remain visible; no repair is promised to be invisible.
