Dropped sink? Start with the fixing, not a new benchtop.

A gap between the sink rim and underside of the stone, a basin sitting lower than before or a sink that moves can indicate a fixing problem. Stop loading or using a loose sink and show us the installation before attempting to push it back into place. We assess the existing bowl, stone around the opening, old bonding and available support. Re-fitting a suitable existing sink may avoid changing the benchtop; damaged stone, a damaged sink or poor access can require a different scope.

Remove & replace means re-fit the existing sink.

Our standard service removes the existing undermount sink from its failed fixing, prepares the contact surfaces and reinstalls that same sink. It does not include supplying a new sink. If you want to change the bowl, send the proposed model and dimensions before booking: the rim, opening and cabinet clearance must be checked. New sink supply or a different model is only included when specifically agreed. Enlarging or reshaping the stone opening is a separate cutting enquiry.

Preparation, bonding and suitable support.

Once removal and access are agreed, old failed material is removed as needed and the bonding faces are prepared for the selected system. The sink is positioned against the existing opening, then re-bonded and supported using a method suitable for the sink, stone and cabinet. A bead around the visible rim is not a substitute for assessing the fixing underneath. The written scope identifies any additional support work. We explain the curing period and when the sink can be used again for the materials selected.

From $990 + GST: what the quote covers.

The starting price covers standard removal, preparation and reinstallation of the existing undermount sink with suitable bonding and support. Final cost depends on access, the bowl and mounting condition, previous attempts to repair it, cabinet clearance and any additional support required. New sink supply, plumbing disconnection or reconnection, stone cutting, chip or crack repairs and cabinet alterations are separate unless expressly included. Your written quote confirms the work and amount payable before booking.

Send photos from above and underneath.

Choose Dropped Undermount Sink Repair in Job Type on our enquiry form. Include a whole-benchtop view, the gap around the rim and clear photographs inside the cabinet showing the sink underside, existing brackets or support and plumbing. Add your suburb, postcode, bowl size and material if known. Tell us whether the sink is still connected, leaking or completely detached, and whether waste units, drawers or shelves restrict access. You do not need to dismantle or pull on a loose sink to take photos.

Plumbing, access and using the sink afterwards.

Tell us about the trap, taps, waste unit and any connections attached to the bowl. Required disconnection and reconnection should be coordinated with a licensed plumber unless the agreed scope already provides for that work. Clear the cupboard and arrange building access before the appointment. Water ingress, swelling cabinetry or cracks around the cutout need to be disclosed because re-bonding the sink alone may not resolve those issues. Follow the stated curing and load restrictions before reconnecting or returning the sink to normal use.

Questions, answered.

Do I need a new sink if my undermount sink has dropped?

Not necessarily. We assess whether the existing sink and opening are suitable for removal, preparation and reinstallation with suitable bonding and support. A damaged bowl, damaged stone or a change of sink model may require a different scope.

Does remove & replace include a new sink?

The standard service means removing and re-fitting your existing undermount sink. New sink supply or installing a different bowl is not included unless agreed in writing.

How much does dropped undermount sink repair cost?

Standard removal, preparation and reinstallation of the existing sink starts from $990 + GST. Access, condition and additional support can affect the quote. New sink supply, plumbing, stone alterations and other repairs are separate unless agreed.

Is plumbing included?

Plumbing disconnection and reconnection are separate unless expressly included in your written scope. Tell us whether the sink is connected and about waste units or restricted access so the work can be coordinated with a licensed plumber where needed.

Can I use a loose sink before it is repaired?

Stop loading or using a loose or dropped sink. Do not pull on it or try to force it back into position. After reinstallation, follow the curing time and use restrictions explained for the bonding and support system selected.

What photos help you quote?

Send the whole benchtop, the gap at the sink rim and the underside inside the cabinet, including existing support and plumbing. Add the bowl dimensions, material if known, suburb and postcode, and tell us about previous repairs or leaks.
