StoneRepair helps Brisbane homeowners arrange standard cut-out enlargement in an existing stone benchtop, with a clear division between stone cutting and appliance installation. If the surrounding stone and support are suitable, modifying the opening may let you keep the existing surface. What the standard quote covers Standard cooktop or appliance cut-out enlargement is $690 + GST ($759 including GST). The quote is for the individual standard stone alteration, using controlled wet-cutting methods. It does not include supplying a cooktop, new stone, electrical or gas work, or unrelated cabinetry changes.
Scope and preparation
Tell us about other alterations you want so they can be quoted as part of the actual scope. Enlargement, relocation and an oversized opening These are three different situations. Enlargement makes an existing opening larger. Relocating a cooktop can involve a new opening, the old opening and cabinet or service changes, so it needs a separate assessment. An opening that is already too large cannot be corrected by removing more stone.

Explain which situation applies rather than assuming every appliance-fit issue is the same cutting job. The enquiry can start before every detail is measured For straightforward cutting, send your suburb, the job type and preferred days. We do not hold a standard quote while you produce measurements or locate model details. Before cutting, however, the agreed opening and appliance requirements must be established. Existing cracks, a narrow stone section or a nearby join should be mentioned because they may affect whether the alteration is suitable.

Three responsibilities to coordinate First, have the old appliance disconnected by the appropriate tradesperson and removed. Second, prepare for the stone visit by clearing the benchtop and emptying cupboards and drawers near the cutting area.
