Confirm preparation
Film does not stabilise a crack or repair an open joint. Ask which damage must be addressed first and whether old coatings need attention. Include all sections you want protected, not just the repaired corner.
Specify the finish and boundaries
Gloss and honed are the supplied finish options. For sanded engineered stone, full-section gloss coverage may be proposed. Show adjoining waterfalls and uncovered returns so any appearance difference can be discussed before installation.
Know the care and terms
Request the named product, coverage, care instructions and applicable written warranty. A film is not an invitation to place hot pans or sharp tools directly on the surface. StoneProtect provides the dedicated installation and supply guidance.
Measure sections, not just the kitchen
Sketch the island, sink run, return and any vertical pieces as separate rectangles with dimensions. Mark sinks, cooktops, taps and joins. Photos explain edge shapes that a rectangle cannot capture. This gives the protection assessment a clearer basis and helps distinguish the repair area from the full sections you want covered.
Keep the responsibilities clear
If one team handles repair and another installs film, confirm the preparation and timing between them. Ask who supplies the final care instructions and which written warranty applies to the chosen product. A general statement about film life is not a substitute for the terms attached to your actual installation.
Questions, answered.
What is the next step?
Send photos, your suburb and the relevant material or fitting details. The team will clarify the proposed work, its limitations and the quote before an appointment is agreed.
