StoneRepair offers cooktop cut-out enlargement on the Gold Coast, helping you work out the stone alteration before the new appliance is installed. Where the existing top is suitable, changing the opening may allow the kitchen's stone to remain in place. The standard scope and price Standard cooktop or appliance cut-out enlargement is $690 + GST ($759 including GST). This covers the individual standard stone-cutting scope. It is not a price for a new benchtop, appliance installation, cabinet alterations or several different cut-outs.
Scope and preparation
We use controlled wet-cutting methods and check the existing stone and proposed alteration before work begins. A cracked or poorly supported area may need a different solution. You do not need to hold up a standard enquiry while measuring the whole kitchen or finding an appliance model number. The intended opening and final fit still need to be established before cutting.
Discussing your appointment
If you already have the appliance installation information, keep it available for the appointment. A larger opening is not always the answer A replacement appliance's outside width does not describe every installation requirement. If the current opening is already too large, further cutting will not fix the fit. A change near a splashback, stone join or narrow strip of benchtop also needs consideration. Tell us about visible cracks or any proposal to move the appliance to a new position; those are different from a straightforward enlargement.

Coordinate disconnection, cutting and installation Have the existing appliance disconnected by the appropriate tradesperson and removed before our arrival. Empty cupboards and drawers close to the cutting area, clear the benchtop and arrange access to the kitchen. StoneRepair handles the agreed stone alteration; electrical or gas connection belongs with the relevant appliance tradesperson. Agree the cutting appointment before scheduling the final installation around it. For apartments and managed properties If your property has building work-hour rules, a lift reservation or a loading requirement, share those details when booking.
Project considerations 5
The person providing access should understand what work has been approved. For a rental or holiday apartment, confirm the owner's permission and coordinate the appointment with the property manager. We only confirm an appointment once a date and time have been agreed. Adding another alteration? A sink cut-out, tap hole or chip repair can be discussed with the cooktop enquiry, but each needs to appear in the agreed scope.

Mention any exposed edge that needs polishing, rather than assuming all stone alterations have the same finish or price.
