Scope and preparation
The aim is to retain useful stone rather than assume the whole kitchen needs replacing. A compact layout can make the remaining strip behind or beside the opening particularly important, so suitability is checked before cutting. If cabinetry or the splashback also needs changing, describe that work separately so responsibilities are clear. Marble etching is not always a stain A pale or dull mark on marble may be a change to the surface rather than material sitting on top of it. The treatment depends on the stone and the mark, so avoid assuming a generic polishing service will suit every surface.

Send photos taken from more than one angle, the material if known and length-by-width measurements of each section for restoration or film enquiries. That allows a considered scope rather than a guess at a final price. Working around apartment access For a Bondi Junction, Randwick or coastal apartment, share any parking limits, lift reservations and building work-hour rules when arranging the visit. The person providing access should know which alteration has been approved. If the property is rented, obtain the owner's permission before arranging permanent changes to the benchtop.

Standard cutting enquiries can still be priced promptly while appointment access is organised. Protecting a repaired or refreshed surface Protection film is a separate service with its own assessment and measurement requirements. It may help manage everyday wear, but it should not be presented as a structural repair for a cracked benchtop. For engineered stone that requires sanding, film over the complete benchtop may be needed to achieve a consistent overall appearance. We discuss the finish and full scope before pricing that work.

Minor chip repair: $450 + GST minimum call-out ($495 including GST). Prices refer to the individual standard scope; combined jobs and unusual work are quoted separately. Cutting uses controlled wet-cutting methods.

For cooktop work, the existing appliance must be disconnected and removed before arrival, with cupboards and drawers near the cutting area emptied. Suitability is checked before work; we do not promise that every existing benchtop can be altered.
