Scope and preparation
A standard cut-out enlargement modifies the stone to the agreed scope, with final positioning and suitability checked before work. Cabinet partitions, a nearby join or a narrow stone section can affect the alteration. You can enquire and receive standard pricing without waiting to prepare a detailed measurement drawing. An island alteration is a separate scope If you want a breakfast-bar overhang removed, the edge remaining in view needs finishing as well as cutting. The established flush-cutting service, including finishing and polishing the exposed edge, is $1,490 + GST ($1,639 including GST).
Discussing your appointment
A mitred build-up, waterfall return, unusually thick edge or structural change should be described before pricing; these are not automatically covered by a basic opening enlargement. Agree who handles those items before the appointment, especially when the new appliance has different clearance requirements. Remove the old appliance after the appropriate tradesperson has disconnected it, empty the cupboards and drawers near the cutting area, and keep the work surface free of household items. A scratched or dull engineered-stone surface is not simply a larger version of the same repair because sanding may change its sheen. For restoration or protection-film pricing, provide overall photos and the length and width of the island, wall run and any other sections. This makes the intended coverage clear and allows consistent-finish options to be considered. Minor chip repair: $450 + GST minimum call-out ($495 including GST). Prices refer to the individual standard scope; combined jobs and unusual work are quoted separately. Cutting uses controlled wet-cutting methods. For cooktop work, the existing appliance must be disconnected and removed before arrival, with cupboards and drawers near the cutting area emptied. Suitability is checked before work; we do not promise that every existing benchtop can be altered.
