Planning your enquiry

If you like your existing kitchen but need a different cooktop, a new tap opening or a damaged edge repaired, start with the alteration you want to make. We will help distinguish a straightforward modification from work that needs a separate assessment. Areas covered Mosman, Cremorne, Neutral Bay, Kirribilli, Milsons Point, North Sydney, Cammeray, Crows Nest, Wollstonecraft, Waverton, St Leonards and Lane Cove. Contact us with your suburb and property address to arrange availability. Keeping the benchtop during an appliance upgrade A new appliance's outer dimensions do not necessarily match its required opening.

Scope and preparation

For a standard cooktop cut-out enlargement, the aim is to modify the opening while retaining the existing stone where suitable. Before work begins, the remaining stone, joins and cabinetry support need to be considered. If the opening is already too large, enlarging it will not solve the problem; that situation requires a different scope rather than a standard cutting booking. Apartment access and strata arrangements For apartments around Neutral Bay, Kirribilli or St Leonards, confirm the building's permitted work hours and any lift or loading arrangements before accepting a booking. We need practical access to the kitchen and a clear work area.

Discussing your appointment

If a building manager requires documents or advance notice, tell us when enquiring so these requirements can be addressed before the visit. An available appointment alone does not override your building's access arrangements. Tap additions without an entire kitchen replacement A filtered-water tap, soap dispenser or additional mixer may need a new opening in the stone. Its position needs to work with the fixture above and the cabinet space below. Tell us what you are adding and your suburb; standard tap-hole enquiries can be quoted without first holding up the conversation for measurements.

Project considerations 4

Plumbing connections and any under-bench equipment should be coordinated with your plumber. What to expect from colour matching Chip repairs aim to blend with the surrounding surface, but the result depends on the stone's colour, pattern, texture and the damage location. Plain colours and prominent edges can show repairs differently from patterned stone. We explain realistic expectations before work rather than promise that every repair will be invisible. If there is a crack running from an opening, mention it separately so the underlying support can be considered.

Project considerations 5

Standard cutting and repair prices Standard cooktop or appliance cut-out enlargement: $690 + GST ($759 including GST). Standard sink cut-out: $690 + GST ($759 including GST). Minor chip repair: $450 + GST minimum call-out ($495 including GST). Prices refer to the individual standard scope; combined jobs and unusual work are quoted separately. Cutting uses controlled wet-cutting methods.

Project considerations 6

For cooktop work, the existing appliance must be disconnected and removed before arrival, with cupboards and drawers near the cutting area emptied. Suitability is checked before work; we do not promise that every existing benchtop can be altered. Arrange your quote Send the job type, suburb and preferred days to sales@stonerepair.com.au or call 0448 564 464. Standard cutting enquiries can proceed without waiting for measurements. We will agree the scope, price and availability before confirming an appointment.
