Scope and preparation
Share the permitted hours and the best contact for access when enquiring. A technician arriving at the building cannot begin work if access has not been arranged. Include the unit number as well as the street address so the booking identifies the right property. Replacing a cooktop in an apartment kitchen A standard enlargement can be useful when a replacement cooktop needs a different opening in an otherwise serviceable benchtop. The old unit must be disconnected and removed before our arrival.
Discussing your appointment
Empty the nearby cupboards and drawers and move items from the working area. StoneRepair prepares the stone opening; the appropriately qualified appliance tradesperson manages the electrical or gas work and reconnection. Homeowner, tenant or managing agent? Tell us who will approve the scope and who will let the technician in. For a tenanted apartment, a repair or permanent benchtop alteration should be agreed with the owner or managing agent before booking.

We do not treat a standard domestic call-out price as approval for an insurance scope, commercial refurbishment or multi-unit project. Those enquiries need their own written scope and pricing. Chips, joins and restoration in small kitchens A chipped edge may be suitable for a local colour-matched repair, but a stain or burn needs a different assessment. Include a close view and an overall photo for restoration enquiries, together with the material and dimensions of every section. A small kitchen can still have several separate pieces, such as a return, island or splashback; explain which surfaces you want treated rather than assuming the whole room is included.

Standard cutting and repair prices Standard cooktop or appliance cut-out enlargement: $690 + GST ($759 including GST). Standard sink cut-out: $690 + GST ($759 including GST). Minor chip repair: $450 + GST minimum call-out ($495 including GST). Prices refer to the individual standard scope; combined jobs and unusual work are quoted separately. Cutting uses controlled wet-cutting methods.

For cooktop work, the existing appliance must be disconnected and removed before arrival, with cupboards and drawers near the cutting area emptied. Suitability is checked before work; we do not promise that every existing benchtop can be altered.
