Planning your enquiry
StoneRepair works with Upper North Shore homeowners who want to update a cooktop or sink, add a tap opening or repair damage while retaining the kitchen's existing stone. A clear scope makes it easier to coordinate the stone work with the rest of your renovation. Areas covered Chatswood, Roseville, Lindfield, Killara, Gordon, Pymble, West Pymble, St Ives, Turramurra, Warrawee, Wahroonga, Waitara and Hornsby. Contact us with your suburb and property address to arrange availability. Coordinate stone cutting with the appliance installer If an induction or other replacement cooktop needs a larger opening, arrange the existing appliance's disconnection and removal before the cutting appointment.
Scope and preparation
The stone work prepares the opening; the electrician or gas fitter handles the appliance connection. Avoid booking the final installation into an unconfirmed cutting window. Send your preferred days with the full address, and we can agree the sequence with you. Check what is staying and what is changing In a partial kitchen renovation, the benchtop, cabinetry and splashback may remain while fittings change. Tell us which parts are staying in place.
Discussing your appointment
A replacement sink may affect cabinet clearance or the finished edge around the opening, and an exposed cut edge needs a different finish from an edge covered by an appliance flange. These distinctions help prevent a standard cut-out quote being mistaken for more extensive fabrication. Repairing damage near joins and openings A chip at the edge of a sink is not the same as a crack travelling across the benchtop. Colour-matched chip repair restores the damaged area; a crack also calls for consideration of movement and support. Where a crack is suitable for repair, the work can involve cleaning, resin filling and supports where possible.
Project considerations 4
Replacement remains the best long-term option for a cracked top, and a repair cannot guarantee that movement will stop. Planning the work area in a family home Empty cupboards and drawers close to the cutting area and move loose items from the benchtop. Tell us about steps, tight side access or a long route from parking to the kitchen when booking. During the work, keep the kitchen available for the technician and plan household activities around the appointment. If several trades are attending, agree who will be responsible for preparing the space and reconnecting the appliance.
Project considerations 5
Standard cutting and repair prices Standard cooktop or appliance cut-out enlargement: $690 + GST ($759 including GST). Standard sink cut-out: $690 + GST ($759 including GST). Minor chip repair: $450 + GST minimum call-out ($495 including GST). Prices refer to the individual standard scope; combined jobs and unusual work are quoted separately. Cutting uses controlled wet-cutting methods.
Project considerations 6
For cooktop work, the existing appliance must be disconnected and removed before arrival, with cupboards and drawers near the cutting area emptied. Suitability is checked before work; we do not promise that every existing benchtop can be altered. Arrange your quote Send the job type, suburb and preferred days to sales@stonerepair.com.au or call 0448 564 464. Standard cutting enquiries can proceed without waiting for measurements. We will agree the scope, price and availability before confirming an appointment.
