How much does stone benchtop repair cost?

A useful price identifies the material, damage, access and expected result. The smallest-looking mark is not always the simplest job.

Start with the service

Standard chip repairs start from $450 + GST ($495 total), joint repairs from $550 + GST ($605 total) and cracks from $790 + GST ($869 total). Porcelain carries an extra $100 + GST ($110 total) per chip. These are starting points; a written quote confirms your actual scope.

Separate optional work

Cabinet support, appliance disconnection, additional damaged areas and full-section protection film are not automatically included in a repair price. Ask for those components to be identified so two quotations can be compared fairly.

Send a complete enquiry

Provide the full address, a wide photograph and close-ups with dimensions. Number multiple chips or seams. Explain restricted parking, stairs or building contractor requirements so avoidable additions are not discovered only on arrival.

Example scope differences

One sink-edge chip with clear access is not the same scope as several porcelain chips in an apartment with a loading reservation. Likewise, renewing one stable joint differs from dealing with a seam that has a height step and moving cabinets. Use the starting prices to plan an enquiry, then ask for a total tied to the actual damage and access.

Avoid comparing only the headline figure

Check whether GST, additional chips, travel, support and other trades are included. A cheaper cosmetic fill may not address the same work as a fuller proposal. The expected appearance matters too: neither a higher price nor a longer appointment turns a visible crack or porcelain repair into a guaranteed invisible result.
