The repair journal

Your stone repair enquiry checklist

A complete first message helps the team assess the right service and give a useful response. You do not need a technical drawing to start.

Describe the stone and damage

Send the brand or material if known, overall photos, close-ups with a ruler and the age of the damage. Explain whether it is a chip, crack, open joint, dull patch or stain. Include previous repairs and attempted treatments.

Describe the property

Add suburb, postcode, stairs, parking and any building restrictions. For a managed property, provide the access contact and who approves the work. For Queensland or Melbourne, share suitable dates for a scheduled service visit.

Describe the outcome

Say whether you want a cosmetic improvement, a serviceable surface or a replacement discussion. Understanding that goal helps the team explain what is realistic. The final scope, limitations, price and timing are confirmed before work is booked.

A message you can work from

Describe the damage and where it sits: for example, one chipped sink edge, an opening joint or a dull island patch. Add the approximate size and when it occurred. State the material if known, list any treatments attempted and explain the result you want. Attach the overall and detailed photos to the same enquiry.

Before you send

Check that your suburb, postcode and contact number are included, and that each photo is in focus. Identify the person approving the work if that is not you. Include access restrictions and desired timing without assuming availability. A complete enquiry helps the team respond to the actual scope with fewer follow-up questions.

Questions, answered.

What is the next step?

Send photos, your suburb and the relevant material or fitting details. The team will clarify the proposed work, its limitations and the quote before an appointment is agreed.
