For a new tap or accessory, tell us what you want fitted. Standard cutting enquiries do not need to wait for a measurement survey or appliance model information before we discuss the price. Final suitability and positioning still need to be checked before cutting. Clear prices for standard work Standard cooktop/appliance cut-out enlargement and standard sink cut-out work are each $690 + GST ($759 including GST). Minor chip repairs have a $450 + GST minimum call-out ($495 including GST).

Cutting a benchtop or overhang flush, including finishing and polishing the exposed edge, is $1,490 + GST ($1,639 including GST). These are separate scopes; a combined project is quoted for the actual work required. Prepare for a cutting appointment The existing cooktop must be disconnected and removed before arrival. Empty cupboards and drawers close to the cutting area and clear the benchtop. Stone cutting uses controlled wet-cutting methods, with suitability assessed before work.

Appliance connections, plumbing changes and unrelated cabinet alterations should be coordinated with the appropriate tradespeople. When photos and measurements matter Protection film, burns, stains, widespread scratching and comparable restoration need assessment before pricing. Send clear overall and close-up photos, the material if known and the length and width of each section. Sanding engineered stone can change its factory sheen, and film over the complete benchtop may be needed for a consistent finish. A chip repair price should not be applied to whole-surface restoration.

Cracks and complex work A cracked benchtop requires assessment of the damage and support. Where appropriate, repair may include cleaning, colour-matched resin filling and supports where possible. It will not be completely invisible and cannot be guaranteed to stop future spreading; replacement is the best long-term option. New fabrication, unusual edges, commercial projects and structural work need their own scope rather than a standard domestic quote.
