Why the finish is different
The face design and the material exposed by a chip may differ. A filled edge cannot be assumed to replicate the original printed detail, texture or sheen. Photographs should show the face, exposed edge and the full position of the damage.
Price the actual damage
Porcelain repair attracts an additional $100 + GST ($110 total) per chip above the applicable repair scope. Count each damaged point, show a ruler alongside it and identify whether several chips connect to a larger fracture. A missing corner may need a different recommendation from a small rim chip.
Repair has limits
Cracked panels, unstable corners and damage beside an opening may make replacement the sounder option. Cosmetic filling does not establish that an underlying fracture has been stabilised. We explain expected visibility before the booking is confirmed.
Prepare for advice
Keep detached pieces safely and do not glue them in place. Share the product name or supplier paperwork where possible, as porcelain and other sintered surfaces should not be identified from a brand name alone.
Questions, answered.
How do I get a repair quote?
Send one full-benchtop photo, close-ups of the damage, your suburb and the material name if known. Include a ruler beside the damage and tell us about any previous repair.
Will the repair be invisible?
Results depend on material, colour, damage and lighting. Colour matching aims to reduce the visual impact. Cracks and porcelain repairs remain visible; no repair is promised to be invisible.
