Assess absorption and existing treatment
Tell us the material, finish, age and any known sealer or coating. Photograph marks and areas around sinks or preparation zones. A new treatment needs compatibility with the existing surface; applying more product does not necessarily improve protection.
Set the right expectation
A suitable penetrating sealer can help reduce absorption, but it is not a promise of a stain-proof or acid-proof benchtop. Marble can still etch. Chips, cracks and an uneven finish require their own assessment before a maintenance treatment is agreed.
Plan cleaning and drying
Cleaning method, drying time and application conditions depend on the stone and product. The quote should state which sections are included and how long they need to remain clear. Avoid booking a treatment immediately before a heavily used kitchen event without discussing the return-to-use timing.
Ongoing care
Use the material and product care instructions, promptly deal with spills and avoid abrasive experimentation. Re-treatment intervals vary with usage and the selected system. For a physical surface layer, compare protection film with sealing rather than treating the two as interchangeable.
Questions, answered.
How do I get a repair quote?
Send one full-benchtop photo, close-ups of the damage, your suburb and the material name if known. Include a ruler beside the damage and tell us about any previous repair.
Will the repair be invisible?
Results depend on material, colour, damage and lighting. Colour matching aims to reduce the visual impact. Cracks and porcelain repairs remain visible; no repair is promised to be invisible.
