Tell us the history
Name the substance or heat source, approximate time of the incident and everything used since. Include photos dry and in side lighting. A wet photograph can hide surface changes, while a close-up alone may not show the extent across a whole section.
Natural stone versus engineered stone
Natural stone may need cleaning, stain treatment or refinishing depending on the diagnosis. Engineered-stone surface removal changes the factory sheen. For suitable small engineered-stone stain or burn treatments, the surface-treatment component starts from $690 + GST ($759 total); film is an additional scope.
Full-section protection
Where engineered stone is sanded, full-section gloss protection film is considered for consistency rather than promising factory repolishing. Film pricing and section coverage are confirmed separately. A top that meets an uncovered waterfall may still have a visible finish difference.
Avoid trial-and-error treatments
Do not sand, scrape or combine chemicals while waiting for advice. Some heat damage and deep discolouration cannot be removed to an acceptable result. Replacement remains an option where treatment would leave an unsuitable appearance.
Questions, answered.
How do I get a repair quote?
Send one full-benchtop photo, close-ups of the damage, your suburb and the material name if known. Include a ruler beside the damage and tell us about any previous repair.
Will the repair be invisible?
Results depend on material, colour, damage and lighting. Colour matching aims to reduce the visual impact. Cracks and porcelain repairs remain visible; no repair is promised to be invisible.
